Meet Amy and Marnia of EdenEve Macramé

Amy Mullins and Marnia Ryan-Raison are the mega-talented duo behind EdenEve Macramé. Their unique Boheme Luxe brand is jaw-droppingly beautiful and now, with the launch of their new book, you can create their style in your own home.

Macramé For Beginners and Beyond features very on trend macramé projects for inside and outside the home. There are 12 different projects with an ‘easy’ and ‘more advanced’ version for each so you can develop your skills as you go.
We recently caught up with Amy and Marnia to find out more about them and how they started their impressive brand.

1, Can you tell us a bit about yourselves and how you came to work together

“We both live in a beautiful little coastal town on the border of New South Wales and Queensland, Australia.  It’s a wonderful community where everyone knows and supports each other.  Our families are very close and our friendship and love for knotting inspired us to join forces in 2015 and we haven’t looked back.”  Macrame for Beginners and Beyond

2, How did you discover macramé?

“My mum was a real creative she was always making something.  Her handmade macramé plant hangers cradled many of her beloved plants. I always loved them, I love anything 70s. So she taught me how to macramé, I think I was about 14 when I first learnt.” Marnia

” I have been doing macramé for 4 years.  At the beginning, I was a stay at home mother wanting a creative outlet, so I taught myself how to make a plant hanger.  The rest is history.” Amy

3, What are your top tips for working on a large scale project?

“We both agree that it is all in the preparation when working on large-scale projects.  Making sure you take the time to butterfly your cords will allow you to easily work through your project letting down the required amount of cord as you progress and ensuring you don’t end up in a tangled mess.”

4, What is your favourite project in the book, if it is possible to choose one?!

“My favourite piece is the Deck Chair, it’s convention meets Boheme Luxe.” Marnia

“I love the cushion decoration, as it’s a simple but really effective project. I also love the clutch, as I love the idea of being able to make accessories in addition to homewares.” Amy

5, Are you working on anything exciting that you can tell us about at the moment?

“We have just finished a large scale contemporary nautical inspired Instalment for a seafood restaurant which consisted of 30, 2 meters by 8cm thick spiral knotted hangers which make up the entirety of 2 separate walls. It was a mammoth task though very rewarding.

We are currently reinventing our label Eden Eve so stay tuned at or via our social media pages Instagram, edeneve.macrame or Facebook, Eden Eve Macramé, as there are many exciting things to come.”
