Lewis and Irene have a new fabric range out which is giving us all sorts of sewing inspiration. Chieveley is making us fall in love.
Chieveley is inspired by the opulence of a grand country house. This sumptuous collection has metallic elements in copper and gold. Sounds quite festive doesn’t it. I love Christmas markets at a country home, there is something quite grand about it that just fills you with that festive feeling. Chieveley, without being ‘openly Christmassy’ manages to capture that same feeling and that is part of its charm.
So, what could you make with this gorgeous fabric? Well of course, Lewis & Irene have their usual quilt kit to go with each fabric range. This can be found over on their site here. How pretty are those colours together below? It is really easy to put together as the blocks only consist of half squares. This quilt will be made up in no time for you to enjoy.
Because the fabric has that gorgeous shine to it, I think it would make a lovely dress for Christmas day. The metallics will really stand out and add that extra Christmassy sparkle. Below are two dresses made with other Lewis and Irene fabric that I think would suit Chieveley really well. On the left is from Little Pea Creations. They have used Grandma’s Garden to make their gorgeous toddler dress. On the right is Notions Haberdashery who have used Autumn in Bluebell Wood to make their dress and matching jacket. I love the gold trim around the neckline and contrasting lining. This would go perfectly with Chieveley.
Of course, this fabric range isn’t just good for clothing, you could make pillows, head bands, hot water bottles, gift bags and that is just thinking quickly off the top of my head. the possibilities are endless. Personally, I would like the Peacock & Pear fabric as wall paper, it’s gorgeous isn’t it? It’s hard to tell from the swatches, but the gold is really metallic and really shines. We are just completely in love.
