Lewis and Irene are back with the most beautiful summer fabric you could imagine. Picnic in the Park is everything we love about summer rolled into one fabric range, it’s pretty special.
When you think of summer you think of picnics, bike rides and ice-cream. Picnic in the Park has all of that. In-fact the only thing missing is the sea, but Tales of the Sea covers that! Featuring pretty pastel backgrounds its is covered in tandem bicycles for loved up rides through the park, picnic baskets filled with lots of treats such as cake, sandwiches and wine and strawberries that bring back fond childhood memories of strawberry picking on warm summers days. You can just feel your stresses melting away just looking at the fabric; it is very idyllic.
Lewis & Irene have created a quilts using the Picnic in the Park collection. It is bright and beautiful and the pastel colours work so well together creating a very on trend quilt which is perfect both indoors or laying out as a picnic blanket. You would have to create a picnic blanket with the Picnic in the Park fabric wouldn’t you? It’s too pretty not to!
Its not just quilts and blankets that this fabric is good for, because of the pattern, you could create a a wide range of summery projects.
One project I think would look ever so sweet with the Strawberries on pink fabric would be this Halter neck playsuit from Lisa Lam. The pattern bundle also includes a halter neck top and a dress, so you can create three gorgeous summer items for your little girl. The pattern has excellent instructions so you can create this even if you are a beginner. Another project I think would look really nice with the Picnic and Ice cream Cones fabric is a lunch bag designed by Kay Witt from her book Serendipity Bags. The lunch bag is a great way to create a totally unique item that is sturdy enough to go on days out and even give to your children!
Of course, these are just a couple of ideas for the fabric in this range, there are so many wonderful summer projects out there that this fabric is made for you could spend until next summer creating them! This range is my favourite Lewis & Irene range so far, because it is so light and summery. It makes me happy just looking at it.
Here are some more of the fabrics in selection of the colour ways from this incredibly pretty range. (From left to right): Daisy Chain on Blue, Ice-cream Cone on Yellow, Strawberries on Pink, Bicycles on White and Picnic on Green.
