Fall Lanterns Block and Runner
This table runner uses a simple block that will build confidence in your paper-piecing abilities. Because table runners are smaller than a quilt, they are fast and easy to create. Even though this is an autumn pattern, you could easily make one for every season by changing the colour blocks. The project has been rated as a rookie exercise as it has very few seams to line up and only 2 pieces of fabric per template. If paper-piecing seems like a minefield to you, this is a good project to start with.
Geometrica Block and Quilt
Geometrica (which sounds like the super hero of quilts) is an impressive block brimming with sharp angles and interesting secondary patterns. It is bright and bold quilt that plays with depth and perception. You can really experiment with colour in this pattern and create something truly unique.
Beloved Selvedge Block and Quilt
Like Elizabeth, you can use scraps from projects gone by to create this selvedge quilt. It will act as a memory of projects you loved doing, ones that didn’t turn out quite right and be great for those final scraps of your favourite fabric that you simply cant bare to throw away and immortalised into a stunning quilt. It is rated as an adventurous exercise and rightly so, with 80-100 selvedge strips needed per block.
Glitzy Star Block and Pillow
Designed for the daring quilter, star blocks are popular among paper-piecing quilters because they result in precise points that are difficult to achieve with any other technique. This Glitzy Star pillow uses that technique blown up to create one larger block which can be sewn into a pillow.
Waterfront Starburst Block and Quilt
This quilt is oozing with appeal, Elizabeth says this pattern is great for showcasing your favourite designers fabric as you can make each block from each colourway. The result is a great looking quilt which you can admire for years to come.
