Sewing with fat quarters is so much fun. Choosing your favourite fabrics in little fat quarter parcels and then turning them into something useful or decorative or both! What could be better?!
We’re are all about fat quarter sewing this week and what you can make from these flexible little fabric squares. They are perfect for small sewing projects including cute mug rugs, purses, bags and pot holders. However, they can also be great for making children’s clothes which don’t require huge amounts of fabric. A couple of fat quarters are all you need to make the perfect little girl’s skirt – so easy with an elasticated waist so they can just pull it on!
To make it even easier we’ve put together a video tutorial with sewing expert and pattern designer, Emily Levey, showing you how to sew three quick and easy sewing projects from the fantastic new book, 50 Fat Quarter Makes. The three projects include a simple gathered skirt for a little girl, a cute satchel shoulder bag and a set of co-ordinating nesting bowls to store treasures and trinkets which uses six fat quarters.
In this 30 minute video tutorial Emily takes you through the process step-by-step showing you exactly what to do. Before you know it, you’ll be the proud owner of three stunning makes!!
