SewandSo is launching a brand new publishing imprint! From Spring 2017, SewandSo books will focus on the top UK and global trends in the craft category.
Using data from online search trending, social media and our own consumer database, our books will focus on the hottest topics in craft with leading authors and personalities. New titles will be published in print, print-on-demand and eBook formats with added extras including videos and digital downloads.
SewandSo.co.uk was acquired by leading niche category publisher F+W Media International in 2016. Managing Director James Woollam said of the launch:
“Our business has changed dramatically as we’ve built out our ecommerce offer alongside our book publishing. It’s exciting for us to now knit these two businesses together under one brand as we continue to build around our direct-to-consumer business.”
The imprint will be led by F+W Media International’s Content Director Ame Verso, who is already familiar to SewandSo customers, as a regular on the blog and the face of our YouTube channel. Ame explained:
“How we commission new books now is completely different to the past. We approve projects based on a level of trend data, insight and customer feedback that was simply not available previously. With digital skills and videography within the in-house team we can now approach each acquisition in a way that exploits all of the markets and opportunities and markets we can reach.”
