Makower Baby Jungle | Fabric Crush

One of my favourite hobbies is making things for my young son. Makower Baby Jungle has just come into stock and already my mind is racing with ideas of what to create with this adorable fabric…

baby jungleBaby Jungle is the new collection from Makower. Your little ones will love this playful fabric featuring a whole host of animals such as elephants, monkeys, zebras and lions. Watch them learn and grow with the count along Baby Jungle Panel and the coordinating alphabet print will have them singing their ABC’s before you know it. These prints are accompanied by modern striking geometric prints.

What I love about this range is that it is gender neutral. The neutral colour palette includes creams, yellows and greens. You can use this fabric to decorate a baby’s nursery or make clothing for them. With so many prints as well as block and a panelled fabric there are so many options for projects to make.

Isn’t this fabric amazing? Not only will it make some stylish baby clothes and nursery toys, your little one will get great enjoyment from learning the names of the animals.

So, what can you make?

There are so many projects you could make with this fabric. It’s perfect for a wide range of nursery projects including cot quilts, playmats, changing bags and children’s clothing. You could make juggling balls, while we don’t expect your newborn to be a pro juggler before their first birthday, you could add bells inside the stuffing for a great sensory toy.  One project I made for my little boy when he was a newborn was a crinkle blanket. You could make a number of these with the Baby Jungle Panel or Baby Jungle Blocks. For a cool mummy look, you could create your own nappy bag using a mixture of the fabrics such as the Baby Jungle Scenic and then use a contrasting fabric such as one of the Baby Jungle Linea fabrics.

Makower has created a reversible quilt for you to make. This quilt can be used as a cot blanket or playmat. It is incredibly sweet. I love that it is double sided too!

I love the way they have used the blocks fabric to create a border on the front of the quilt and the Baby Jungle Chalk Stripe fabric for the binding and the outside triangles. It draws your eyes into the patterns in the middle of the quilt.

The back of the quilt uses the Panelled fabric which creates an amazing site for a child. There are so many animals to look at. The addition of numbers and the alphabet will be a huge bonus for many parents as it aids in learning. The elephant border is also extremely sweet.
