What to make with Summerlite 4ply

It’s summer knits week and the Summerlite 4ply yarns from Rowan are getting a lot of love in the office this week. They look gorgeous. They feel gorgeous. And you can make gorgeous things with them. It’s all gooooorgeous!

Summerlite 4ply is made using 100% finest cotton which results in a beautiful soft matt cotton, with a wonderfully summery colour palette. I love the names too. I’d love that to be my job: “yarn namer in chief” – where can I apply?

But of course the yarn isn’t just made for stroking (although there has been rather a lot of that going on here). The new Rowan pattern book for this range is absolutely stunning. Here are some of our favourite patterns:

rowan pattern book SummerliteThe slouchy Rubia cardigan (above left) is knitted sideways to give it a relaxed shape, perfect for loitering in meadows (note to self: do more loitering in meadows this summer.)

The elegant Amandier cardigan (above centre) has single button fastening and long set-in sleeves, making it the ideal cover-up for a slightly more formal occasion.

The romantic Hellebore cap sleeved wrap top (above right) features a pretty lace stitch pattern and delightful ribbon ties – it’s just dreamy!

All these patterns and more are available in the Summerlite 4ply booklet (left) , which is on sale now!

Crochet with Summerlite 4ply

If you’re more into crochet than knitting and want some of the Summerlite 4ply action, be sure to join in with Lisa Richardson’s crochet along over on the KnitRowan site and choose from projects such as a baby blanket, a shawl, a cushion and a scarf, all made from different motifs that will be stitched each week. The crochet-a-long is already underway, but there’s still time to catch up – here’s the schedule:
