Luna Lapin is a quiet and kind rabbit with impeccable taste. Luna loves to sew, and very soon you can sew her – thanks to the imminent release of Making Luna Lapin by Sarah Peel. We’re so excited about this book that we jumped at the chance to meet up with Luna herself at the Festival of Quilts!
We met Luna at the entrance to the show at the NEC Birmingham. She looked downright adorable in her homemade shift dress and boots – well she does have impeccable taste!
Our first port of call was the SewandSo stand, where she met up with our team, including Content Manager Sarah and Head of UK Sales and Events Rachel.
She couldn’t resist joining in our #Hextravaganza and doing a bit of English Paper Piecing for our hexagon wall! She chose a ditsy floral print, naturally.
Next stop was the Cool Crafting stand to catch up with her creator, the incredibly talented Sarah Peel, to share some dressmaking tips.
As a lover of Liberty fabrics, Luna couldn’t resist the call of the beautiful Alice Caroline stand, where she found lots of inspiration for her next sewing project.
Luna loves admiring the exhibition quilts at the Festival, and this pretty Liberty hexagon quilt of the British Isles – There’s No Place Like Home by Kate Jackson – was a standout piece.
Luna also made sure we swung by the exhibition of miniature quilts, which are her firm favourites.
After a busy morning, Luna stopped for coffee and a delicious strawberry tart to refuel before hitting the aisles again.
There was pretty floral fabric from Rose and Hubble to stroke and covet.
And even a glimpse of quilting legend Kaffe Fassett.
Luna rounded up the day with a visit to APQS to have a go at free motion quilting.
