Animal Quilts are everywhere right now. Their big, bold patterns and size mean they demand attention from everyone who sees them. The likes of Elizabeth Hartman, Juliet van der Heijden and Violet Craft mean these awesome quilts are now accessible to the masses.
We wanted to share some of our favourite animal quilts that are out there at the moment.
These breath taking animal quilts are by Quilt designer extraordinaire Violet Crafts. She designs quilts that feature animals ranging from Rabbits to Lions and Deers to Peacocks. There bright geometric designs are impressive and eye catching.
Next is a giant in the quilting world, Elizabeth Hartman. Her designs are instantly recognisable and we are really excited to now be stocking her patterns. She designs quilts such as the Florence the Flamingo and Fancy Forest quilts below. She has many other quilts including Loyd & Lola the Llamas and the Sleepy Sloth quilt (Which I have bought myself) to name a few. Elizabeth’s quilts are bright and happy and most are accessible to an advanced beginner.
Carrying on with the trend are these incredible animal quilts from Juliet Van Der Heijden. Her new book, Animal Quilts, is available to pre-order now. The stunning book includes quilt patterns and instructions for 12 eye catching, wild animals including a tiger, polar bear, peacock, butterfly and lion.
A quick search on Pinterest shows a whole range of animal quilts which instantly make me want to go and make them. From right to left: Bear quilt by Dizzy Quilts, Panda Quilt was shown in Love Patchwork and Quilting Magazine November 2016. Wee Animal quilt from Knit, Stitch, Click and the Animal Adventure Quilt is designed by Anita Goodesign.
