You will need
✻ White 14-count Aida 18 x 15cm (7 x 6in)
✻ Tapestry needle size 24
✻ DMC stranded cotton (floss) as listed in the chart key
✻ Ribbon bow to tone with embroidery
✻ Sheet of white card and pale blue card
✻ Rickrack braid or decorative trim
✻ Double-sided tape and craft glue
1 Mark the centre of the fabric and centre of the chart. Start stitching from the centre of the chart and fabric and work over one block. Use two strands of stranded cotton (floss) for cross stitches and one for backstitches.
2 Once all stitching is complete, trim to eight rows beyond the design. Use craft glue to stick on the ribbon bow.
3 Make up the card as follows. Use double-sided adhesive tape to fix the embroidery on to a piece of coloured card 15 x 13.5cm (6 x 5½ in). Glue the trim around the edges of the fabric. Fold a piece of white card 16 x 29cm (6¼ x 11½ in) in half and stick the mounted design centrally on the front.
