This cross stitch strawberry motif looks good enough to eat! It has been set within an oval aperture card to give this pretty fruit a special frame.
- White 14-count aida
- DMC stranded cotton (floss): Red 349, Dark Red 321, Yellow 729, Black 310, Dark Green 319 and Green 320
- Oval aperture card
- Double-sided tape
- 4″ embroidery hoop
Instructions: Cut a piece of 14-count aida, ensuring that your fabric will fit to the edge of the card; seal the edges of the aida with masking tape. Cross stitch the strawberry design onto aida following the free chart, below, using two strands of stranded cotton throughout. Outline the design using backstitch in one strand of black stranded cotton. Stitch the strawberry pips randomly using backstitch in two strands of yellow stranded cotton. Mount the design over the inner aperture of the card with double-sided tape.
