Our new fabric crush is Radiance by Beth Studley. We have been lucky enough to have the whole range in the office and I have not been able to stop admiring it since it came in.
Beth Studley is a fabric, quilting and sewing pattern designer from the UK with her first collection being released just 2 years ago. She has already made a name for herself as an extremely talented fabric designer. Radiance is inspired by antique crochet and lace, yet the colour she has used has given it a modern feel.
What I really love about this collection is the colours she has used. It goes against the traditional lace feel and draws you into the pattern she has created.
The collection is so diverse it could be used to embellish clothing, for decorating projects or to cut up and create modern strip quilts. Above are some of the beautiful mini projects that Beth has made for her book Mini patchwork Projects such as Picture Garland, a Natty Notebook Cover and a Hexi Needlecase. Practical and so so beautiful.
The reversible little Trinket Bowls are really sturdy the fabric used, Starburst Pink, has a kaleidoscope effect which makes you want to jump in and swim in it. These projects will be ones you keep in your sewing box for years to come. They also make perfect little gifts, if you can bare to give them away. The Petalled Pin Cushion, is simply divine, and is a great chance to use the majority of the fabric in this collection. You can make each half petal a different fabric, and make the top different from the bottom, go wild!
Just look at all that beautiful fabric! It gives a wonderful effect doesn’t it? What I really love is that because of the different patterns in the fabric, all the blocks are different. Even in a small project like the Curvy Coaster you can use a lot of the collection and create a really unique and gorgeous project.
Above are the other patterns in the range from left to right: Lace Blue Fabric, Starburst Pink Fabric, Heart Circles Orange Fabric, Star Flower Yellow Fabric, Doodle Burst Orange Fabric, Stripe Blue Fabric.
