Luxurious, elegant, stunning. That’s how we would describe Bed of Roses, the new collection from Michael Miller, the brain child of Michael Steiner and Kathy Miller. It is just lovely and we have a real fabric crush on it.
The company is new to SewandSo, when we saw their Bed of Roses collection we just had to have it. Isn’t is gorgeous? The colours are breathtaking and the patterns have a watercolour look to them which is so striking. The range features pretty and abundant florals in a range of stunning colours. This is perfect fabric for quilt projects, apparel and soft furnishing projects. The company are committed to expanding with a product that stands out in the industry, and Bed of Roses does just that, it stands out for all the right reasons.
We have a Bed of Roses Quilt Kit that can be made with this collection. It uses the Cabbage Rose Border Fabric which is perfect for quilting, it has a falling flower effect to it which is ever so pretty. Also in the quilt is the Lily of the Valley fabric in Leaf, Opal and Navy, Little Birds, Rose, Sapphire and Briar Path. The quilt is exquisite and would create a focal point in a room.
A quilt kit is a great way to show off a range of fabric and this quilt does it ever so well. Even though the patterns are busy it isn’t fussy, it is exactly how a floral print should be. Because of the style of the pattern design the whole quilt just flows nicely and fits together to create something that is really quite special.
Because it is a luxury looking fabric, you can make luxury projects with it. To match your quilt you can create a Kimono style robe, which is so easy to make. It’s sexy and delicate all at the same time. I can picture this being worn on a spa weekend with the girls, drinking champagne and having treatments done, or on a mini break to a European city with your partner whilst relaxing on a balcony in the evenings. Ahh, sounds lovely doesn’t it?!
It is really easy to create as well, it uses just 1.75m of fabric and with no pattern required and just straight lines to sew, it can be whipped up in no time for a satisfying project that you can keep for years to come.
Boarder print fabric is not only great for creating quilts and Kimonos, its is also perfect for making skirts and dresses. the Cabbage Rose Border fabric would look very beautiful and classy as either of these garments. A dress or skirt made with this fabric I could imagine being worn to a garden party or special event and we all like to dress up and look lovely so it will be extra satisfying having made your outfit yourself.
Another project you can make is this drawstring mini bag. Ideal for your make up or small toiletries when you go away it is very stylish and will match your new Kimono Robe too! You can make this project using the ‘Just For You Gift Bag‘ in 50 Fat Quarter Makes which you can download for free here and with either the Navy, Leaf or Opal fabric is will look amazing!
I could talk about the fabric and suggest projects for it all day, but I need to stop somewhere. I think it’s fair to say we have a huge crush on this fabric and we hope you will too.
