When we’ve had the kind of weather the UK has been experiencing it can seem like the worst idea to pick up your stitching, knitting or quilting etc. But stitching shouldn’t stop for the sun and here is why…
Summer embroidery is some of the most beautiful. Create floral embroidered wonders on your summer outfits and add that extra something special to your wardrobe. I’m talking sunflowers on a big summer hat type projects.
You can get a head start on all the projects you’ll want to be finished for the winter. Big blankets, hats and jumpers. You may want to do these in the evening when it’s a bit cooler but you’ll thank yourself for doing these projects now when the colder weather sets in.
There are so many bright and colourful kits to be stitching in this beautiful weather. Sit in the sunshine and enjoy process of stitching outside, possibly with a cheeky Pimms to hand!
Crafting can keep you motivated. You know how it is, when it’s hot outside the sun just zaps the energy from you. While falling asleep in the sun (at your desk) seems like a very real possibility, keep your mind active and yourself motivated by picking up a stitching project.
Holiday prep. While we are enjoying an early summer, a lot of you won’t be off on your holibobs until August. I don’t know about you but I will be making all sorts for my holidays including a luggage tag, beach bag and espadrilles.
The summer holidays. 6 weeks to fill with fun activities for the kids that doesn’t cost the earth can be hard to do. But, if you craft some magic for them now, not only will creating a fancy dress wardrobe for them pay off in the summer, it will keep their imagination running into next year.
