3 Sisters Poetry | Fabric Crush

The poet, Mary Oliver, once wrote that “everyone wants to know what poetry means but nobody is asking, ‘how does it feel?’”

Crafting words and creating fabrics is much the same, it’s about finding a way to express an emotion, a feeling – This is how 3 Sisters describe their latest fabric range, Poetry. We are inclined to agree.

Like a good poem, the Poetry collection has a mix of elements that is a 3 Sisters signature. There are beautiful florals, polka dots and a classic text print, and a few stripes and checks for texture. The soft colour palette of Porcelain, Blush, Mist and Stone sets a lovely rhythm that is accented with flourishes of Charcoal and Rose.

3 Sisters have created this gorgeous quilt which is named ‘Hello Sun‘, which is so stunning, I love it. The star block surrounded by a circle is so effective and stands out against the neutral background. This is a really lovely quilt and one you should definitely make.

There are so many projects you could make with this romantic fabric. Allison, one of the 3 sisters, loves to make totes, so, it seems fitting to make a tote with poetry. Get a free tote bag pattern here.

There are 40 different prints in Poetry, so plenty to choose from. The dusky reds, greens and greys have a very romantic feel to them. Like the colours of flowers in a time gone by. Let’s take a look at some of the other fabrics, shall we?

It’s beautiful, isn’t it? What will you make with Poetry? A gift for a loved one maybe? I would make a lap quilt that I could snuggle under while reading.
